knowing someone means learning something

DJ and Alfonso live in Merino, Colorado and have been coming to Camp Kindle in Nebraska for seven years. DJ is seventeen years old and Alfonso is his adopted thirteen-year-old little brother. When Alfonso was adopted, his family did not know that he had HIV. However, ever since they found out, his mother has been an advocate for those suffering from the disease.

DJ And Alfonso’s Bio (continued)
DJ has been speaking with Project Kindle’s speaker’s bureau, SPEAK OUT, for three years and advocating for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS ever since Alfonso was brought info his family. Last summer, DJ became a Junior Counselor at Camp Kindle.

Alfonso continues to attend Camp Kindle as a camper and hopes to follow in his brother’s footsteps and begin speaking in PK’s speaker’s bureau. He is very open about his HIV status and educates as many people he can about the disease.
